Varma/Marma therapy is a well established traditional Siddha therapy that is unique to Kanyakumari district. It is also studied as martial art. VK-NARDEP with the sponsorship of AYUSH of the department of health of the Government of India, organized the first ever national symposium on Varma therapy. For the first time Varma/Marma practitioners belonging to Ayurveda and Siddha disciplines came together in a forum and explored ways of keeping the tradition conserved and scientifically validating the system.
