First leaflet of Vivekananda Kendra – NARDEP

Vivekananda Kendra – Natural Resources Development Project or in short VK-NARDEP is an integral part of Vivekananda Kendra. It started its activities from 1st January, 1986. It started its activities with an emphasis on propagation of New and Renewable energy sources such as Solar, Biogas plant, Smokeless chula, Energy village (Shakti Gramam) etc. In the initial years, VK-Nardep took up the project of “Chemical treatment of Coconut thatches” along with Cost effective construction of toilet and houses and propagation of craft items such as banana fibre, aloe vera fiber etc.
